Prime Minister Wen Jiabao (國務院總理溫家寶) - who is now in Sichuan directing rescue work - promised that the government will deliver as many Liberation Army soldiers as required, and hopefully with the generous donations from Hong Kong and around the world, the surviving victims will hang in there until the situation is stable. Severe weather conditions have also blocked supply routes, so hopefully that will change soon.
What upsets me more - and I'm sure it's the same with other people - is how China's response contrasts Burma's to their typhoon disaster. Seriously, whoever is in charge there must have a fucked up mind - the dictators have put power before humanity. It's too hard to imagine how they run the country.
I wish the victims to be rescued very soon and looked after well.
Update: the death toll has gone up to 'nearly 20,000': [link]
